There are at least 150 (hand painted) characters living in Larody, Rocky Top and Lizard Dale. They do not like being photographed, and they put a hex on me whenever I try to do it. Here, on the Main Street of Rocky Top, the inhabitants stop their activities to watch the shoot out across the tracks.

The sheriff is nowhere to be found. He is relaxing by the jail, takin’ care of a previous offense.

The rich and famous board of directors of Seven Rivers Railroad could care less. They are enjoying a private excursion. Dr. Durant has a new job!

A group of Irish and Chinese railroad workers are now up to six dollars a month. The guy without a shovel makes $20.

Abe Lincoln’s Real Funeral
While historians recorded the spurious funeral of Honest Abe in Springfield, Illinois, a Confederate train had actually hijacked the funeral car and was headed out for Ruby Ridge in Idaho. They never made it. We all knew Abe would have wanted to RIP in the Boot Hill Cemetery below Devils Tower, so the train was re-hijacked, and Abe’s final wishes came true. You can read all about it in the archives of the Rocquie Toppe Picayune.
