The creativity and modeling skills of Don Fouse are central to the look and feel of Seven Rivers Railroad. Most of the buildings and some of the bridgework were built by him from kits or from scratch. You can see them on the Murals, Terrain and Trains pages on this website. His lumber yard and sawmill, Knottjeur’s Ore Mine, the towns of Rocky Top and Lizard Dale, farm structures, water towers and more all testify to his love of our hobby.

Lisette Knottjeur, Rocky Top’s wealthiest and most influential citizen, replicated her Leadville, Colorado home in our mountain town. The original, built around 1885, is still occupied in Leadville. Mark built this one.
Here are the Lizard Dale Station and depot (Don,) and the Devils Tower Station (Mark.) The station master’s little house was on my first layout in 1960, refurbished to accent the station I built in 2019. Most of the little people on the right are Victorian figures by Andrew C. Stadden.
Lizard Swill Distillery, Haunted Hideaway, and two water towers are some of Don’s best work. They will always have a place on Seven Rivers Railroad.

Completed in January of 2018, the Jim Bridger Trestle and Truss Bridge now take the place of a foam board ramp that served for twenty years until I had time and courage to build them. A fancy kit provided the strip wood and some patterns, but the designs are mine, based on old photographs of the first transcontinental railroad. There are several views of this work on other pages. of this website.
